Even if you're not yet in pain, it's important to see an emergency dentist promptly. When a tooth chips or breaks, the internal and delicate parts of the tooth may be exposed to the bacteria present in your mouth. If left unprotected, this can quickly lead to decay and infection. You can receive necessary treatment at the same appointment — but your dentist will always discuss treatment options and costs with you before proceeding.
